8:7. ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ಕೆಲವು ಜನರು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವ ರೂಢಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ, ಆ ಜನರು ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವಾಗ ಅದು ವಿಗ್ರಹಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಪಿತವಾದದ್ದೆಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದು ತಪ್ಪಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ದೃಢನಂಬಿಕೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಅವರು ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವಾಗ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದೋಷಿಗಳೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.

8:7. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಎಲ್ಲರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕೆಲವರು ಈವರೆಗೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ರೂಢಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ತಾವು ತಿನ್ನುವ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆಂದು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬಲಹೀನವಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಅಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ.

8:7. But this knowledge is not shared by all. And some, by being accustomed to idols in former times, eat this food as an idol sacrifice, and their conscience, because it is weak, is defiled.

8:7. However, not all believers know this. Some are accustomed to thinking of idols as being real, so when they eat food that has been offered to idols, they think of it as the worship of real gods, and their weak consciences are violated.

8:7. Howbeit there is not in all men that knowledge: but some, being used until now to the idol, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

8:7. However, not all possess this knowledge. But some, through former association with idols, eat food as really offered to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

8:7. Howbeit [there is] not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat [it] as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.

8:7. But not all people know this. Some have had the habit of worshiping idols. So now when they eat meat, they still feel as if it belongs to an idol. They are not sure that it is right to eat this meat. So when they eat it, they feel guilty.
